This complex has forty-two efficiency apartments, twenty-five 1-bedroom, and three 2-bedroom, unfurnished public housing apartments, 95% of which wheel chairs can enter and navigate, and two of which are wheel chair accessible apartments. All apartments have open beam cathedral ceilings, a gas stove, refrigerator, air conditioning and fenced backyards with storage sheds.

The complex is nicely landscaped with trees, shrubs and grass and has a number of picnic tables and benches for socializing and relaxation. The apartments are grouped around common courtyards with covered areas to retreat from the New Mexico sunshine. There are laundry facilities, a community center and soda machines on the premises. A full-time maintenance staff takes care of the apartments and grounds, maintaining a high standard of excellence.

Villa del Sol is located near the heart of downtown Truth or Consequences, adjacent to Ralph Edwards Park and a Junior/Senior Fishing Pond. The park is bordered by the beautiful Rio Grande, back-dropped by the majestic Caballo Mountains. Downtown begins approximately 4 blocks from the apartments; there you will find churches, banks, beauty shops, barbers, restaurants, movie rentals, post office, groceries, drug store, shops, and lawyers and hot mineral bath houses.

Also nearby are the Community Theatre, Retired Senior Volunteer Program (foster grandparent, senior companion and food share), Senior Citizens Program (meal site, home care services and home delivered meals), Senior Joint Office on Aging, City Library, bowling center and the Municipal Golf Course. Approximately five miles away is Elephant Butte Lake State Park, a great spot for picnicking, camping, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, and boating fun.

The application must be completely filled-out, signed and returned to the Housing Authority with copies of all household members’ Birth Certificates, Social Security cards, and proof of any and all income. Social Security recipients must provide a copy of award letters.
